Within this function I have fulfilled the following assignments:Designed the dSiPM from an idea.Selected two important suppliers to manufacture the IC and the tiles.Build internally our testing equipment for wafer testing and tile testing.Hired about 25 people to build a team with all the necessary competences.Selected Philips Healthcare Advanced Molecular Imaging (AMI) as our alpha customer for application knowledge.Introduced the product in the relevant Academic world because replacing PMTs with dSiPMs is disruptive.Convinced the relevant Universities, Labs and key opinion leaders about the usefulness of this new product.Introduced this new technology in other market segments such as: High Energy Physics, Microscopy, Security, Live Sciences, etc.Developed dies, tiles, modules and rings for several different applications and markets.Filed 27 patents.Introduced our new technology at the IEEE NSS/MIC in 2009 and the following yearsReleased production starting from the idea of a dSiPMTransferred the Venture to Philips Healthcare AMI in 2013.Philips Healthcare introduced the first full digital Positron Emission Tomography system with dSiPM end 2013

Within this function I have fulfilled the following assignments:Disentanglement of the CCD image sensor business part of Philips and integration into the DALSA organization.Planned and executed reorganization and structure for new business situation, only a part of the imaging group of Philips was purchased by new company DALSA BV. This new company was founded because DALSA wanted a location in Europe.Transferred to a new building at the Eindhoven CampusDisconnect data network from Philips and installed own network within agreed timeframe.Transferred wafer production from Philips foundry in Caen, France to DALSA foundry Bromont, Canada.Profitability from the first year onwards, revenue increased 35 in four years, projected increase for the next 5 year is 100 due to new products.Continuation of relationship with customers and extend the customer base according business plan customer base now 40 higher.Introduction of and ongoing development for new products for Digital Still Camera (DSC), Medical, Broadcast and photogrammetry market.Introduction of products into new markets, e.g. Japan and Russia Korea and rest of Asia startedReorganization of sales, sales was a part of the business unit and has been a separate organization. In the mean time this is a part of the Eindhoven BU again.Started application specific contracts to allow us to work with Research & Development programs funded with Non Recurring Engineering (NRE) and helping customers with their specific needs.Started to build up a second technology (CMOS) next to the existing CCD technology.Prepare business plans, yearly budgets for the Business Unit and align this with the rest of the organization.Reporting of the results every quarter to the Board of Directors in Canada.
